Queen Boudica Primary School has an exciting opportunity to recruit an LSA to join our staff team in our in-house Inclusion Room, called The Nest.

Start date: As soon as possible after 19.1.26.

Hours: Mornings 8.30am - 12.00pm, 1.00pm - 3.15pm = 28 hours 45 minutes

Pay range: LSA Band 3 points 5 - 6 £16,699 - £16,964

Closing date: Monday 12th January at 9.00am

Interviews: week ending 16th January 2026

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Inclusion Room LSA, working as part of the staff team to support a small number of high needs pupils who are unable to access the mainstream classroom. These pupils are currently from Year 1 - Year 3 in age and follow the Cherry Garden framework and KS1 curriculum.

The successful candidate will work under the line management of the SENCO and The Nest Leader, alongside another Nest LSA. They will be responsible for the delivery of learning activities including 1:1 interventions and small group work. They will also support transition for these pupils (where appropriate) back into a mainstream classroom.

Activities are planned by The Nest Leader, although proactive input from both LSAs is encouraged. The successful candidate will have a commitment to inclusion, an understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Experience of working in a SEND capacity and expertise in speech, language and communication methods (Elklan, core boards, Makaton, etc) would be an advantage, but is not essential, but a positive attitude and readiness to embrace each child's individual needs is paramount.

The Nest is a relatively new provision, established in September 2025, and has already been of immense benefit to our pupils and the wider school community. We are in an exciting phase of development, having recently secured an Inclusion Funding bid from the Local Authority, in order to provide further resources and learning opportunities. Our staff team is positive and enthusiastic, and our school community is proud of its high standards of behaviour and friendly welcoming approach.

We are looking for an LSA who:

· Is pupil centred and passionate about children and their learning

Proactively engages with the weekly plan provided by The Nest leaderand ensures all relevant materials are prepared and accessible prior to delivery
Collaborates with colleagues to develop knowledge of the Cherry Garden framework and KS1 curriculum, seeking advice where needed
Works proactively and on own initiative to implement relevant interventions and accurately records the impact of interventions, providing feedback to The Nest leader
· Has knowledge of a range of effective positive behaviour management strategies

· Has an understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities, ideally including strategies for assessment, intervention, and different methods of instruction

· Is able to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to communicate effectively with individuals with diverse needs and learning styles is particularly important

· Is a strong advocate for students with SEND, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard. This includes promoting inclusive practices and challenging any barriers to participation

· Has an understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, as The Nest team will often be working with vulnerable students

· Has a genuine passion for creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported
