Learning Support Assistants

Start Date: 5th January 2026

Scale: 3 Point: 5

Actual Salary: £17,783

FTE: £25,583

Hours: 30 hrs per week - Term Time Only

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our team. The successful candidate will support children with a range of behavioural and Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning and thrive in our nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils with behavioural and SEN needs
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans
  • Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external agencies
  • Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing and inclusion across the school day

Essential Experience

  • Supporting children with behavioural challenges
  • Working with pupils with SEN
  • A strong understanding of individual learning needs

Desirable

  • Experience working within an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision
  • Knowledge or experience of SEND paperwork and documentation

Personal Qualities

  • Resilient, calm and patient
  • Empathetic with a passion for supporting young people
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusion
