This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established, successful, actively inclusive and forward-thinking Infant School. We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic leader with the ability, experience and aspirations to continue the successful journey of our Ofsted-rated 'Good' school, following our inspection in October 2024.

At King's Ford Infant School and Nursery, our ethos is shaped by our SCARF values - Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship - which underpin everything we do and reflect the nurturing environment we create for our children, colleagues and community. Our school motto, "Where Everyone Matters and Every Day Counts," captures our belief that every child deserves the very best start to their educational journey. The Headteacher plays a vital role in bringing this vision to life, ensuring it is reflected in every classroom, every interaction, and every decision made across the school.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A passion for delivering high-quality education within a nurturing environment, making a positive difference to children's lives and wellbeing, in line with our SCARF values.
  • Proven leadership skills, or relevant experience and a willingness to actively develop these through professional learning and reflection.
  • Strategic thinking and planning aimed at delivering a broad, balanced and inspiring curriculum for all children, whatever their ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building strong relationships across the school and wider community.
  • The ability to adapt and lead effectively in an ever-changing educational landscape.
  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all children and staff.

We will offer you:

  • A supportive and welcoming school community with happy, enthusiastic children who love to learn.
  • Incredibly experienced, dedicated and hardworking colleagues who are motivated and passionate about nurturing and educating our children.
  • A supportive, encouraging and willing Governing Body that is committed to helping the school continue to grow and succeed.
  • A school recognised by Ofsted as 'Good' (October 2024), with the ambition to continue learning, improving and delivering for our learners.
  • Recently expanded nursery provision, offering an even stronger start for our youngest learners.

Please ensure your application is completed in full, as incomplete applications cannot be considered.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. To arrange an appointment, please contact Rachel Buchanan on 01206 574524 or email sbm@kingsford-inf.essex.sch.uk.

King's Ford Infant School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
