Programme Leader for Mathematics - with potential Trust-wide responsibility as a Specialist Leader in Education

We are seeking an outstanding, inspirational teacher to lead our Mathematics department. This is a rare opportunity within our tight-knit school for an ambitious teacher to shape the future of maths teaching at The Deanes - and, for the right candidate, across our wider Trust.

As the Programme Leader for Mathematics, you will:

  • Lead and develop a talented and committed team of teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Drive excellence in curriculum design, teaching, and outcomes for all learners.
  • Inspire a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and a love of mathematics.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school as a committed and visible leader.

For candidates with the passion and proven track record to make an impact beyond one school, this post also offers the possibility of additional Trust-wide responsibilities as a Specialist Leader in Education. In this role, you would:

  • Support and develop maths teaching across other schools in the Trust.
  • Lead professional development and share best practice.
  • Contribute to raising standards and improving outcomes on a broader scale.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with the credibility to lead others.
  • Has a strong track record of raising achievement in maths.
  • Can think strategically and act with integrity, resilience, and vision.
  • Is committed to the success of every student, every day.

In turn, we can offer:

  • A supportive, ambitious school community with a culture of collaboration across a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust with a strong moral purpose.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership beyond your own department. There is a comprehensive induction programme and excellent opportunities for high-quality CPD through theSEEAT Institute.
  • A wide range ofemployee benefitsincluding family-friendly policies.

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We have a diverse student community and positively welcome and encourage applicants from all walks of life. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. As we say in the person specification, we will take a holistic view of your application. So, if you are excited about working with us and taking the next step in your leadership journey but aren't 100% sure if you meet all the criteria, we'd still like to have the opportunity to read your application - you might just be the person we are looking for!
