Position Type: Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 32 hrs per week (Term Time only)
Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale - Scale 2 Spine Point 4 - actual starting salary £18,118 (including fringe but excluding pending 2025 pay award)
Working Pattern: 09:35 - 16:30 Monday toThursday and 09:40 - 16:30 Friday
Lee Chapel Primary School & Nursery is an OFSTED rated "Outstanding" school and is looking to appoint an experienced Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join their busy school office.
The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:-
- Be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries, taking and passing on messages as required.
- Answering basic admissions queries and referring any more complex matters to the Admissions Officer.
- Assisting with the monitoring of the "admin" e-mail account and dealing with/passing on e-mails as appropriate.
- Be responsible for checking attendance at after-school clubs and contacting parents of children who have not attended to establish their whereabouts.
- Dealing with School Money queries and taking payments.
- Photocopying of exam papers.
- General clerical and admin duties as required.
- Checking-off deliveries.
- Administering First Aid to pupils.
We are looking for a candidate:
- With solid office administrative experience (school office experience preferable but not essential).
- With solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and SIMS (SIMS experience preferable but not essential).
- With excellent communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook.
- Who is efficient, versatile and able to work on their own initiative.
- Who has an excellent telephone manner & can record and pass on messages accurately.
- Who is able to prioritise their own work load & plan effectively.
- Who can remain calm under pressure and have a positive and sunny disposition.
- Who is confident to administer first aid to pupils.
