ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER - RSL
Pay Range: Leadership Scale, Points L11 - L15
Actual Salary from: £60,488 - £66,628
Start Date: 1st January 2025
The Role
Due to a recent internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Assistant Headteacher - Raising Standards Lead to join the Academy in January 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to extend and refine the quality ofteaching and learning at the Academy, ensuring that we continue to offer our students outstanding support. Paxman Academy opened to Year 7 students in September 2019 and is a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 Academy with a PAN of 180. It is a heavily oversubscribed school which is held in high regard in the community. Our recent Ofsted Inspection (Feb 24) rated our school as Good.
Visits to the Academy are welcomed.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- To assist the Headteacher and Leadership team in providing leadership and management of the school.
- To provide strategic leadership for specified whole school priorities relating to raising academy attainment and progress in Key Stage 4.
- Be a leading classroom practitioner; inspire and motivate other teachers.
- Help develop and oversee the Vocational Curriculum.

We're looking for you if you have:
- Leadership experience, including managing staff and students
- Demonstrable experience of high-quality teaching and learning
- Demonstrable experience of improving student outcomes
- Demonstrable experience of effective performance management and quality improvement within a school environment
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and OFSTED Framework regarding effective leadership, management and self-evaluation
- Knowledge and understanding of strategies to raise standards and achievement of students

Paxman Academy opened in September 2019 and admitted 180 Year 7 students in the first year.
