We are looking to recruit a Nursery Practitioner to join our experienced and friendly team.
The successful candidate would preferably be experienced in childcare and hold a relevant Level 3 qualification, or willing to undertake training. The post is term time only, 22 hours per week as follows: Monday 8.30am to 1pm, Wednesday 8.30am to 3.30pm, Thursday 8.30am to 3.30pm, Friday 8.30 to 1pm
Main Responsibilities:
Work with and support the Nursery Teacher in fulfilling the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of the children in the Nursery.
Liaise with staff, parents and other professionals.
Take on the role of a Key Person for a small group of children; carrying out observations, maintaining children's records and reporting to parents.
Assist the teacher in providing and ensuring maintenance of a pleasant, safe and stimulating environment for the children.
Assist in planning and preparing activities, differentiating for the varied development of all children, including those with additional needs.
Supervise children in their activities, extending their learning as appropriate.
Supervise children at snack and lunch time, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Set up and clear away equipment.
Be familiar with and put into practice Nursery Policies.
Attend relevant courses.
Observe confidentiality.
Provide general physical care and attention to the children as a trained First Aider.
Prioritise the safety of children at all times.
Establish good relationships with parents and children.
Information about the School
We are a children's nursery offering continuous day care and education for children aged from 2 ½ to 4 years, serving Elmstead Market and the surrounding area. We are registered for 26 children to attend at any one time. We are open 5 days a week, 9am to 3.30pm, term time only. Housed in a bright, spacious and modern building the Nursery is situated within the grounds of Elmstead Primary School. Our close links with the school enable our children to enjoy an easy transition from nursery to school. The Nursery is run by the teacher, Mrs Sandra Davison, and a team of experienced and dedicated professionals, most of whom have been with us for a good number of years. Our aim is that every child will experience a broad and balanced curriculum, in an environment that is happy, caring and stimulating.
