Speech and Language Therapist
Market Field School, Elmstead Market
Pay Range:Scale 7 point 19 (£31,067) up to scale 10 point 35 (£44,711) depending on experience, in-line with NHS band 5 & band 6.
Contract Type:Full-Time
Contract Term:Permanent
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 8.30am to 16.30pm: Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 16.00pm on a Friday, 30-minute unpaid break for lunch break
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing school and college team. You would be joining a well-established and friendly speech and language team where CPD opportunities are provided and encouraged. We can offer opportunities for professional development and career growth within the expanding trust.
The speech and language team work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support the speech, language, and communication needs of the children across the school and college. Our aim is for all children to have a form of communication that works for them, that enables them to access the curriculum and that is functional so that they can use it outside of school and college. To do this you would be expected to manage your own caseload, assess children across the school and to then use the evidence base, your knowledge and experience to plan the level of therapy. You would also be expected to carry out training sessions for teachers, teaching assistants and parents/carers when needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills supporting children with a range of communication difficulties from the age of 4-18 years. We are looking for a therapist who enjoys being part of a hard-working team, and who is productive, creative and has a positive attitude.

You will act as an ambassador for both the school and Hope Learning Community, the Trust which we are part of. You will liaise with staff within the school in order to meet the needs of the students. You will promote a professional and caring image whilst championing our school values, Respect, Excellence and Friendship. You must be patient, kind, enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and a diligent hard-working work ethic.
