Position Type: Finance Administrator
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 8.45 am - 2.45 pm (with a 20 minute unpaid lunch break) - 28 hours and 20 minutes per week (Term Time only)
Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale, Scale 2 Point 5 - Actual salary £16,808 (including fringe)
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join our friendly, busy admin team. The successful candidate will:
- Have solid office administrative/finance experience.
- Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook.
- Have achieved at least a grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
- Be efficient, versatile and able to work on their own initiative.
- Have an excellent telephone manner.
- Be able to prioritise their own workload & plan effectively.
- Be able to remain calm under pressure and have a positive and sunny disposition.
Duties will include:
- To be responsible for the inputting of purchase orders onto the Access finance system, prior to ordering, and adhering to the individual set budgetary limits.
- To be responsible for the timely inputting of invoices onto the Access finance system.
- Processing BACS payments for payment.
- Be responsible for monitoring outstanding orders and chasing suppliers when required.
- Completion and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets and bank reconciliation.
- Assist with the administration of the online payment system "School Money" in relation to payments for dinner money, school trips, weekly swimming lessons etc.
- To be responsible for the administration of petty cash and receipts up to £20.00.
- PTFA account banking.
- Be responsible for finance-related filing/archiving.
- To carry out all financial administration in accordance with school financial regulations and policies
