Assistant Head Teacher
Start date:September 2025
Expected Salary Range - Leadership Scale 1-5 - £51,773 - £57,137
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team at Limebrook Primary School & Nursery.
This is a key leadership role within the school, supporting the Headteacher in driving school improvement, raising standards, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
The successful candidate will lead on a specific area of school development (e.g. curriculum, teaching & learning, assessment, inclusion, or behaviour) and contribute to the strategic direction of the school.
Assistant Headteachers play a central role in leadership, helping to implement the school's vision and improve outcomes for all pupils
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school
- Lead and drive improvement in a key area of responsibility (e.g. curriculum, assessment, inclusion)
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the school
- Use data to improve pupil outcomes and inform strategic decisions
- Line manage and support teaching and support staff
- Lead professional development, coaching and mentoring of staff
- Contribute to the School Improvement Plan and self-evaluation processes
- Ensure high expectations of behaviour, achievement and inclusion
- Work collaboratively with governors, parents and external agencies
- Undertake teaching responsibilities as required
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has significant teaching experience and leadership experience (e.g. middle leadership)
- Has a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes
- Demonstrates strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Has excellent knowledge of the curriculum and assessment
- Is able to inspire, motivate and support staff
- Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and high standards
- Is ambitious and ready for senior leadership
- Has experience of working with children with individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapting teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
- Has Experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including working alongside the SENDCo and external agencies
- Has some experience as a member of a school safeguarding team.
