Welcome to The Alderton Infant School

We aim to make school a happy and rewarding experience for all children. Our dedicated, caring, experienced and well-qualified staff team promote a high standard of achievement, learning behaviours and enjoy watching individual children grow and learn. Our extensive range of resources, including the stimulating and attractive outdoor environment, enrich the children's engagement and investigation of the world. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which fosters a positive, "Growth Mindset", attitude to learning. We want children to leave our school with a firm foundation and a love for learning. Expectations of good behaviour, collaboration and respect for each other is very high. The school is set in beautiful grounds, alongside: The Alderton Junior School, Sunrise Children’s Centre, New Beginnings Day Nursery and Junior Adventures Group, our Ofsted registered Breakfast and After School Club provider.

Our vision is that everyone in our community has a safe, happy adventure so that: EVERYONE The whole community, children, staff, parents, carers and governors - inclusive of all! Take everyone on the journey, work in partnership and celebrate achievements. CAN We offer enriching experiences to develop confidence, resilience and open doors. We provide a welcoming and nurturing environment founded on strong relationships. We can start building firm foundations to create adaptable learners in innovative ways. FLY Ready to continue a life-long learning adventure, full of aspiration. Equipped with the understanding, skills and knowledge of how to be their own champion.

We are part of The Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust of fifteen Primary and one Special School all based in the Epping Forest District. Along with our SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training), School Improvement Team, Well-being Service and Resourced Provisions based in three of our schools, we are a leading educational organisation in Epping Forest.

EFSPT was formed in 2018 from a consortium of schools that had worked together for over 20 years, and are committed to collaborative working to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and school communities. The schools maintain their identities but work in a highly collaborative manner supported by a small but very experienced Central Team.

Our Mission is to provide an exceptional education that is inclusive and challenging for all and which provides wider opportunities for the children within the EFSPT to flourish.

EFSPT is committed to Trauma Perceptive Practice; the Essex approach to understanding behaviour and supporting emotional well-being. Being trauma-perceptive means that through our values, policies and practice, we are able to effectively support the children, families and communities in our Trust, creating spaces of belonging and safety that enable everyone to flourish, become resilient and learn.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we are committed to safeguarding our schools’ communities. The appointment will therefore be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks.

West Essex SCITT is an outstanding provider of Initial Teacher Training. We currently have student finance or self funded postgraduate trainee teacher vacancies available to start in September 2024 across all of our 16 primary schools.
