Evening Caretaker / Lettings Coordinator

Location: Chase High School
Contract Type: Permanent / 52 weeks per year / 23 hours per week

Start Date October 2026

Salary: £16,155 - £16,412 per annum (Scale 4, Point 6-7, pro rata)

Chase High School is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive Evening Caretaker / Lettings Coordinator to join our dedicated Site Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in providing a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, staff and community users. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our evening lettings programme, ensuring facilities are prepared for external hirers and helping to maintain the school site to a high standard

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing evening lettings and providing a professional front-of-house service.
  • Welcoming and assisting hirers using the school's sports facilities
  • Preparing facilities and equipment for bookings.
  • Ensuring buildings are secure, safe and ready for use.
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school's lettings programme.
  • Assisting with general caretaking duties across the wider school site.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, safe and well-presented environment for all users.

What We're Looking For

  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Is organised, dependable and able to work independently.
  • Can demonstrate a practical approach to site management and maintenance.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Is flexible and willing to support occasional additional hours when required.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience in caretaking, facilities management, site maintenance or lettings coordination would be advantageous, although training will be provided for the right candidate.

Chase High School is a mixed, mainstream secondary school located in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. It educates more than 1,300 pupils aged 11-18 from over 40 countries.
