St Teresa's Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Support Assistant (Additional Needs) to join our thriving team - Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm term time only.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children in our Reception class who require additional support to access learning and school life. This may include supporting children with SEND, medical needs or other barriers to learning. We are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and committed to helping every child flourish.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for one academic year and is linked to the current needs of children within our Early Years provision.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Support children with additional needs within the Reception classroom
  • Help children access learning, play and wider school life
  • Promote communication, language and social development
  • Support children's emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SEND team, families and external professionals
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Support children's personal care and medical needs where required and appropriate training has been provided
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

About You

  • Can build positive relationships with children and families
  • Works effectively as part of a team
  • Is flexible, reliable and willing to learn
  • Supports the Catholic ethos and values of the school
  • Experience of working within an Early Years setting or supporting children with additional needs would be advantageous.
