Position Type:Early Intervention Practitioner (Inclusion, Attendance & Wellbeing)
Hours: 29.5 hours(8:30 - 3:30, three days per week, including 30-minute unpaid lunch; 8:30 - 1:30, two days per week)Term Time Only
Our school is seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Early Intervention Practitioner to join our friendly and inclusive team. This role combines attendance support with targeted early intervention work to improve pupils' attendance, punctuality, engagement and wellbeing.
You will work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to identify and remove barriers to learning at an early stage, with a particular focus on social, emotional and mental health needs.
The ideal candidate will ideally have
- experience of supporting families
- GCSE A-C/equivalent in English and Maths
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excell, Outlook essential
- Knowledge of schools MIS system (SIMS) desirable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook
- Excellent telephone manner with the ability to record and pass on accurate messages
- Be able to prioritise their own workload & plan effectively
- Calm, confident and professional approach
- Positive, solution-focused attitude
You will be expected to

Monitor attendance, persistent absence and punctuality

Contact families regarding pupil absence

Identify pupils at risk of disengagement, including anxiety or emerging needs

Provide practical and emotional support to pupils and families

Deliver targeted early intervention sessions

Support personalised attendance and wellbeing plans

Build positive relationships with families

Work with external agencies

Maintain accurate records and tracking data

Organise and attend attendance and inclusion meetings under the direction of the SLT
