Salary: £20,623 per annum (£14.59 per hour)
Hours: 32.5 per week; Monday - Friday; 08:30 - 16:00
Contract: Term-time only, Permanent

Chatten Free School is a highly specialist school providing a radically different approach to education for pupils who cannot access education in other special educational needs and disability settings. As an ABA Tutor, you will join a dedicated team of professionals, supporting our pupils, aged 4-19, who have an autism diagnosis and associated complex needs.
What you'll be doing as an ABA Tutor
- Deliver individualised curriculums and behaviour support plans on either a 1:1 or small group basis to our pupils, providing a holistic service that focuses on fostering independence and enhancing quality of life. This could include:
- Physical activities i.e. running short distances, swimming or engaging in physical play for sustained periods of time.
- Dealing with challenging behaviour and using restrictive physical intervention.
- Assisting with personal self-care needs.
- Record and analysis data related to the pupil's programme to ensure targets are being met.
- Create resources to support in the delivery of the programme.
- Develop and sustain professional relationships with parents and coworkers and provide updates daily as required.
What you need to succeed as an ABA Tutor
- To be passionate about providing a high level of care and support to young people with learning disabilities and/or autism
- Exceptional listening and communication skills
- An empathetic approach
- To be willing to provide personal care
- Basic IT skills to collect and analyse data
- A proactive approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative

Information about the School
We are a specialist day free school in Witham, Essex working with children and young people who are severely affected by their autism and associated learning difficulties. Our pupils are ages 4-19. Most of our pupils are pre-vocal or in the early stages of developing communicative skills.
We believe that through a consistent and individualised curriculum, using effective and evidence based learning techniques we can ensure that our pupils leave us as independent as possible and with life-long socially significant skills which will enable them to access the world around them in a rich and meaningful way.

Our primary focus is to provide all our pupils with an effective form of communication which they can use throughout their lives. We also aim to teach them important tolerance, life and academic skills which will be functional in their real lives beyond school.
Chatten provision includes access to individualised curriculums based on input in the areas of; applied behaviour analysis (ABA), speech and language therapy (SALT), occupational therapy (OT) and qualified teacher (QTS) level educational interventions. We use evidence based interventions and monitor progress meticulously to ensure that methods are effective for the pupil.
