School Business Manager

Start Date 1st September 2026, or 1st July for Handover if available

Permanent Contract

35hours per week (8am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, including a half hour unpaid lunch break)

Salary - Scale 7 Range 19-24 (FTE £32,061 - £35,412)

Salary Point dependent on experience.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised and motivated School Business Manager to join our school community. The responsibilities for this role are for finance, including budget setting and monitoring, personnel, premises and some general office administration.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to work proactively and independently and remain calm under pressure
  • The financial skills and ability to work independently, using good judgment and initiative.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be proficient in Excel and have knowledge of school-based systems including SIMS/FMS (desirable)
  • Support the Senior Leadership and Governors with strategy and decision-making.
  • Work effectively with the Caretaker, Catering Manager and other members of the school community.

Where possible, we would like the successful candidate to have some availability for a handover with the current Finance Manager to ensure a smooth transition.
