This is an exciting time to join us. The school has stabilised, culture is shifting, and we are building the clarity, consistency and ambition our pupils deserve. If you visit, you will see a school that has changed for the better; calmer, more purposeful, and increasingly proud. We think you'll be won over by our children, our staff, and the direction we are travelling in.

As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in driving our strategic vision and priorities. You will support and challenge staff to secure the very best outcomes for pupils, while helping to build a culture rooted in aspiration, inclusion and high standards.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner.
  • Has experience working with pupils with a diverse range of abilities and needs.
  • Leads with integrity, high expectations and a genuine belief that every child can succeed.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with pupils, staff, families, governors and external partners.
  • Is motivated by challenge and understands what it takes to improve a school in difficult circumstances.
  • Understands that context informs leadership decisions but does not define expectations or lower ambition.

As a partner school of South East Essex Academy Trust, we benefit from strong partnerships with local schools and a commitment to high‑quality professional learning. We offer excellent opportunities for leadership development and ongoing career progression.

We would strongly encourage you to visit us before applying. Seeing the school in action will give you a real sense of who we are and where we are heading.

To arrange a tour or a conversation with the Headteacher, please contact the school office on 01268 685011 or admin@corneliusvermuyden.com.

Information about the School

South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT) is a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with eight schools.

SEEAT was inaugurated on 1st April 2014. It was made up from Westcliff High School for Girls, Prince Avenue Academy, Nursery and Children’s Centre (sponsored by WHSG) and Rochford Primary School and Nursery. The Trust enlarged on 1st September 2014 with WHSG sponsoring the academisation of Holt Farm Junior School. In September 2021 The Deanes School, Hadleigh Junior School and The Westborough School joined us followed by Heycroft Primary School in January 2024.

Since April 2024 we have been supporting Cornelius Vermuyden School and working in close partnership, including providing and Executive Head arrangement.

We are a friendly, collaborative family of schools and we believe that all the schools in the family have become significantly stronger since working together as part of SEEAT.

We are looking to grow in a measured way over the next few years. If you are interested in joining us, we would be happy to talk to school leaders and governors about your options and to share how we believe SEEAT could make a positive difference to the pupils, staff, and families in your school.

Please contact HR at hr@seeat.org for recruitment queries or info@seeat.org for other queries.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
