Lee Chapel Primary School & Nursery has an exciting opportunity for an individual with a sports background to join us and undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship (Sports Pathway). This role will be both class-based supporting in Maths and English sets (and some foundation subjects) and also supporting in Games/PE/swimming lessons and during sports-based after-school clubs. This role really is the best of both worlds for someone looking to kick-start their career in a primary school setting. We are looking for a candidate with a strong sports background through their own coaching/instructing or someone who has just completed a sports-related course at college and is looking to further their knowledge.
Alongside your employment, you will be studying for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship (Sports Pathway). The Sports Teaching Assistant apprenticeship uses the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard, along with an embedded coaching qualification, to enable those in a Sports support role to achieve a relevant qualification whilst working in this position. This course typically lasts 16-18 months and is equivalent to two A levels.
You will have a structured learning programme including both 'on the job' and 'off the job' activities, designed to cover everything you need to learn. Your tutor will meet with you regularly to guide you through your learning and this will be complemented by support from us. Your progress will be reviewed regularly and you will be involved in this process.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an OFSTED rated "Outstanding" School, in a role with real variety from day one, whilst working towards a qualification. The successful candidate must have excellent people and communication skills and be flexible to adapt to changing situations.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for this role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
Lee Chapel Primary School & Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment is subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
