Shorefields School is excited to be opening a 12 place Early Years Assessment centre for SEN 3 and 4 year olds at Mistley in the Summer Term of 2024.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN pupils, able to support our youngest pupils and their families with the very best start to life.
This role will play a key part in our Nursery team, working alongside our Assessment Lead, Nursery teacher and HLTA.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
· have Early Years education and care qualification to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent
· have experience in a Teaching Assistant position
· have strong leadership and communication skills
· have a solid understanding of child protection / safeguarding issues and procedures
· have an enhanced DBS check (though one will be completed for the successful candidate)
· have an excellent understanding of special educational needs and equality of opportunity
This role will be 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus non-pupil days
Scale 4 Point 7 to 8 (FTE £22,369.00 to £22,777.00)
Actual Gross Annual Salary £15,688.15 (under 5 year service) to £16,186.81 (over 5 year service)

Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 160 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula
