Job Overview:

  • High Need Funding officer responsible for managing High Needs Funding (HNF) data and information, ensuring clarity on funding assessments for college teams. The role involves liaising with external stakeholders to guarantee accurate funding claims in adherence to relevant legislation and guidance. The position is integral to the Management Information Systems (MIS) team, participating in general MIS activities, including enrolment, the Individualised Learner Record (ILR), and learner information management.
  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain robust processes for funding claim estimates, aligning with government methodology and evidence-based requirements.
  • Provide assurance to local authorities through clear estimates and monitoring of changes impacting learner funding.
  • Accurately record HNF information in the ILR, funding management system, and other communication systems for external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely updates and communication to external stakeholders regarding changes in learner circumstances.
  • Coordinate with staff teams for learner support management, facilitating timely information exchange and data recording for HNF learners.
  • Prepare and provide updates and reports for management levels and external agencies, meeting statutory reporting deadlines.
  • Stay updated on funding guidance for High Needs learners and promptly apply changes to processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and the finance team for invoicing funding from Local Authorities.
  • Collaborate with the MIS team to provide support during periods of unavailability, including training and process management.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer-related qualification or training.
  • Excel data management, including summary data such as pivot tables.
  • Experience of High Needs Funding methodology working in a school, college, or local authority.
  • Experience of reporting financial information, including reconciliation methodology.
