Fun 4 Kids at Highwoods is looking for a Playworker, term time only to work in this busy breakfast and after school club.

The hours are 26.25 per week, working Monday to Friday 7am-9am and 2.45pm-6pm.

Main duties include:

· Set up the play space moving furniture and play equipment, set up activities to ensure a welcoming environment is prepared and ready for the children to access on arrival, a rich environment with learning opportunities.

· Work within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

· Understand and adhere to the clubs confidentiality code at all times.

· Conduct sessional risk assessment and contribute towards keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.

· Ensuring at all times that the Safeguarding policy is followed, observing the physical and emotional security of all children, bringing to the attention of your Line Manager anything about a child which gives you cause for concern.

· Recognising children's struggles and achievements and support and celebrate accordingly.

· Support children to develop their independence and emotional regulation and manage childrens behaviour with positive reinforcement.

· Observe and support play.

· To be familiar with current OFSTED's welfare requirements.

· Providing comprehensive care for the children throughout the session including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents or carers.

· Be aware of how many children are in the setting and keeping numbers up to date.

· Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities., contributing and sharing your ideas with your team.

· Perform key person duties following the principles of the EYFS, ensuring children are observed at least once a week and findings are recorded in their learning journey.

· Take an active role in Fire and Lockdown drills.

· Ensure that children are let in promptly and that parents/carers are escorted to the front door once they have signed their child out.

· Serve breakfast (if breakfast club)and snack (after school) ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met as per food safety folder.

· Encouraging children to make healthy choices with food.

· Administering first aid when necessary. (only first aiders) and completing the relevant paperwork as required, ensuring parents/carers are aware of any injuries.

· Complete any other relevant paperwork..

· Facilitating good communication and build positive relationships with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools.

· Undertaking any appropriate and relevant training.

· Be a good role model.

· Help with intimate care as necessary.

· Regularly check the toilets throughout and at the end of each session.

· Ensure the setting is clean and tidy at the end of each day.

· Take turns as per rota for purchasing snacks and resources from the club funds.

· Launder club tea towels and cloths as necessary.

· Each half term you should be available to contribute to the sanitisation of the club and its resources, ensuring they are clean and safe to use (this may involve coming in to setting during the holiday or inset days).You will receive TOIL if this is in your own time.

· Attend team meetings and out of hours training courses, as required.

· Carry out other duties as necessary.
