Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale, Scale 4 Spine 7 - actual starting salary £24,983 (including fringe and 2023 pay award)

Working Pattern: 10:45-18:30 Monday to Friday(1 hour break)

As a growing school, we are looking to add to our already highly-skilled Site Team, with a new flexible and proactive Caretaker, who has good general practical skills, enjoys physical types of activities and has a "can-do" attitude. As a key-holder your duties may include unlocking/locking of the school premises - this may include site security and attending some after school events. You will carry out routine tasks in order to keep the site tidy, safe and secure. Please note, that some work involved in this role can be physically demanding.

We are seeking to appoint a caretaker to join the school's site team, who will take pride in looking after our school ensuring that we provide a safe, clean and stunning environment in which our children can learn. The ideal candidate will be friendly, hardworking, reliable, self-motivated and set themselves high expectations to ensure the operation of the school's building, grounds and equipment is run to the highest standards.

Previous experience in a similar position would be beneficial and qualifications or experience in a trade (electrical, plumbing, building, decorating) are desirable. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Health and Safety legislation and requirements (COSHH) and be educated to English and Maths Level 2 or equivalent.

The successful candidate will work alongside our full time Site Manager. There will be the potential for overtime as and when required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 'Good' two form entry school in a role with real variety from day one. The successful candidate must have a great sense of humour, excellent people and communication skills and be flexible to adapt to changing situations.

Our Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The post is subject to satisfactory medical checks, enhanced DBS clearance and references.

Visits to the school are WARMLY encouraged.

Please contact Jane Fisher (Office Manager) at admin@ryedene.essex.sch.uk to arrange a visit.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
