Early Years' Practitioner - Level 3

Term time only

Hours per week to be discussed, minimum of 15 hours

£11.00 per hour

To start in January 2024

The Role:

-To work as a key person and as part of the preschool team under the direction of the manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children, which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

-The Fledgelings Preschool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is a requirement of all staff that they share this commitment and follow the prescribed policy and procedures to continuously promote a culture of safeguarding across the whole organisation.

Main Duties:

-To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.

-To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for guidance.

-To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.

-To ensure that children's learning journeys are a true reflection of their time at the setting.

-To respect the setting's Christian ethos.

This job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the preschool manager. The post holder is also expected to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties.

The Fledgelings Preschool has been a valuable part of Tile Kiln Church’s service to the Tile Kiln community and beyond for almost 25 years, with its Christian ethos underpinning the day-to-day running. Our school motto is “Be good, and kind, and love each other.”

Opening during term time from 9am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am-12pm on Fridays, we provide high quality early years’ care and education, in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment, for children aged between 2 and statutory school age. Our high ratio of staff to children enables us to meet the needs of each child and their family as necessary.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
