Salary: Band A Point 1 - 6
(£12,954.58 - £14,135.12 per annum)
27 hours 5 minutes per week
8:40am - 3:10pm Monday - Friday
15-minute break and 50-minute unpaid lunch break
37 weeks of the year - term time only
Start Date: January 2024
Fixed until 31st August 2024

A new opportunity has arisen, for a Learning Support Assistant based at East Tilbury Primary School, to join our successful team supporting students in the classroom environment. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take on a crucial role to enable pupils access to learning, by supervising and assisting pupils (one to one and in small groups) across a wide range of activities and supported learning activities within our school and make a difference to the life chances of East Tilbury children. You will work in partnership with class teachers, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.
East Tilbury Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, committed and flexible Learning Support Assistant, to support student learning and educational outcomes.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a degree looking to gain school-based experience ahead of entering a teacher training programme. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting learners to improve educational outcomes. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
· The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively
· The ability to build a strong professional relationships
· Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans, learning outcomes.
· Good organisational skills
· Good behaviour management skills
· A proficiency in ICT
· Applicants must hold GCSE Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths
· Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required)
· A willingness to provide personal care
· A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving life
· A commitment to supporting the delivery of education at the highest standard
Main duties will be:
· Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities and Improve outcomes for children
· Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
· Act as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
· Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil's progress against lesson plans, the conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil-related records
· Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
· To establish positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered
East Tilbury Primary School is located in the heart of East Tilbury, near the town centre, a short distance from the train station, which is on the C2C Line between Shoeburyness and Fenchurch Street Station. Parking is available on-site and there are good transport links by both rail and bus. East Tilbury Primary School is just over nine miles from the M25.

East Tilbury Primary School & Nursery converted to Academy Status in April 2012 as a partner in St Cleres Co-operative Academy Trust. We are a three/four form entry school in a semi-rural location, only a 5 minute walk from East Tilbury Station which is on the C2C Fenchurch - Shoeburyness Line. .
