ALTERNATIVE PROVISION TEACHER (PART TIME)

Salary: £30,237 - £35,238 (full time equivalent) - required for 2 or 3 days per week

Applications Closing Date: Sunday, 10th December 2023

Start date: 01/01/2024

Contract: Fixed Term to the end of the academic year 2023/2024

We are looking for a talented, inspirational, resilient, hard-working and flexible teacher to deliver teaching in at least two subject areas up to Level 2/Foundation GCSE and one enrichment subject. This person must care for our students, be passionate about supporting them to achieve the best outcomes possible, and be able to deliver high quality education and support for vulnerable young people aged 14-16 with a range of complex educational, SEND and SEMH needs.

Would you like to be part of a team that provides hope for the future, healing, wholeness, opportunities for achievement and acceptance as part of a nurturing community, for vulnerable young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion?

This is a significant role in a small, unique school that has achieved Trauma Informed School status and Attachment Aware status. The salary for the role is determined by individual factors bespoke to the unique context of our setting: the benefits of very small class sizes and the associated reduction in lesson preparation and marking time; a relatively short timetabled day; and additional support, advice and guidance associated with working in a small experienced and trained team. Please see the job description and person specification for further details.

Open Box Education Centre is a small independent Alternative Provision School providing a KS4 curriculum for students aged 14-16 with special education needs and trauma ( whether those needs are previously unmet or undiagnosed, or are recognised through an EHCP), or for whom a mainstream school placement has not been possible or appropriate. Our small team of dedicated, caring and professional staff provide full-time education and therapeutic services for up to 16 students to help them grow in confidence, trust and self-esteem, and experience success in their last years of secondary school.

What we can offer you:

· The chance to be part of a successful Alternative Provision school that is dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion by providing opportunities for achievement, acceptance as part of a community and hope for the future.

· A significant role in a caring, professional and collaborative small team of staff who are dedicated and committed to the success and welfare of all students.

· A small, busy, friendly, supportive and caring working environment.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to develop innovative ways to meet the complex needs of young people who have been unable to find a home in the mainstream system for a wide range of reasons, and as we continually strive to provide high quality, nurturing and bespoke alternative provision.

An application form and full job description and person specification can be found on our website: www.openboxeducation.org.uk. Please email your completed application form and covering letter to the Principal, Mrs Alison Dolan at: adolan@openboxeducation.org.uk or send to Open Box Education Centre, St John's Road, Epping, Essex, CM16 5DN. We welcome visits from prospective candidates. To arrange a visit, contact the School Administrator, Joanna Beavis, via email: admin@openboxeducation.org.uk or call on 01992 577 300.
