Merrylands Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our Autistic Support Centre to support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Start date: January 2024.

The hours are 8:15am to 1:00pm Monday to Friday, 23.75 hours per week term time only - 39 weeks per year including 5 INSET days.

Salary Scale 5 (Range 9-12), Actual Salary £14,202 including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work as part of our fantastic team in the Autism Hub, to ensure pupils are fully integrated into school life, support their individual needs; social, emotional, communication, academic and physical.

We are looking for an individual who will:

· have experience of supporting children with social and emotional developmental needs

· be experienced in dealing with complex, emotional and behavioural needs

· have a high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication/interaction skills

· have energy, enthusiasm and a flexible approach with the ability to look upon demands as an opportunity to be positive and inspirational

· believe in inclusion, diversity and access, and the right of each pupil to maximise their potential whatever their needs and abilities

· work well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
