Administrative assistant (finance office, main office & PA work)
Salary - £26,421+£633 (Fringe payment)
(Please note, this wage is a full time equivalent. Actual wage dependent on hours and days worked.)
Hours: Between 15 and 25 hours spread over 3-5 days
(Exact hours and structure of days negotiable)

The Christus Catholic Trust and the Local Governing Committee of this caring and successful school, wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and pro-active admin assistant to join our welcoming and dedicated staff team at St Teresa's Primary School. This is a part time, permanent position. The position will begin as soon as possible.
St Teresa's and The Christus Trust can offer:
· Term time work with school holidays off. (Although occasional days may be required in school holidays, which can be used as time in lieu)

· Some flexibility in how the working hours are spread across the week/terms.
· Delightful, well-behaved children and supportive, friendly parents who work well with school staff.
· Support from the Finance manager, Office manager and Headteacher in learning new systems and routines in the school.
The suitable candidate will be:
· Someone who is proactive, accurate and takes the initiative in their role.
· Someone who is flexible and happy to take on new tasks and challenges in the working week.
· Someone who is happy to work in both office based administrative tasks as well as public facing receptionist style tasks.
· Have experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and be computer literate.
· Able and willing to learn how to use school based software.
· Speak well and have a good standard of written English.
(Prior experience of working in financial/administrative roles or school/public facing office roles is not required but would be desired if possible.)
Typical roles in a working week could be:
· Processing orders.
· Dealing with queries related to invoices and orders.
· Dealing with staff queries/order requests.
· Taking inventories.
· Supporting the finance manager in day to day duties.
· Supporting the office manager with admissions paperwork (especially for mid-year admissions.)
· Helping deal with admin tasks such as assigning children to after school clubs or sorting permission slips for a trip.
· Aid in the administrative tasks related to the census.
· Support the main office in busy times by taking phone messages and dealing with face to face parental queries.
· Running messages to class teachers or children.
· Providing cover for office manager's lunch break.
· General admin tasks as directed by headteacher.
Less typical roles, that may be required:
· Covering the school office if required due to staff absence.
· Helping to set up rooms and serve refreshments during governor's and headteacher's meetings.
· Being an extra pair of hands to help out if short staffed during wet play.

St Teresa's Catholic Primary is located in Basildon and is part of a multi academy trust (The Christus Catholic Trust), which currently has 6 primary schools. St Teresa's is a single form entry located in the heart of a diverse community. The latest Ofsted Inspection rates us as a 'good' school.
