HEALTH & MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 3, Points 5-6
Actual Salary from: £13,409 - £13,653
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role
We are seeking an outstanding individual in the role of Health & Medical Assistant for an immediate start.
This post is 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only). The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 3:00pm.
Some of your key responsibilities will include: - To administer First Aid for pupils and staff
- To assist with the maintaining of First Aid resources
- To care for pupils who are unwell and liaise with the parents of these pupils
- To administer medication to pupils, as prescribed by the appropriate G.P
- To keep records of pupils needing medication and of medication given
- Make provision for children's health needs in schools
- Additional hours may be required to cover the Health & Medical Officer during periods of absence.
We're looking for you if you have:
- Have first aid training
- Have experience of keeping accurate records
- Excellent IT skills
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have strong organisational skills

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
