Alec Hunter Academy is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a well-led, high-performing, and supportive team. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in numeracy strategies and the ability to help students to reach their full potential by working with them individually, in small groups or in the classroom as part of the Student Development Team.
Applicants must have excellent numeracy and literacy skills, including Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above. Previous experience is not mandatory, since guidance and training will be provided, but a background in supporting young people with additional needs would be an advantage. Applications are particularly welcome from people who have previously provided personal care to physically impaired children, as well as those with other learning difficulties. However, the most essential attribute for this position is the ability to engender positive relationships with young people.
