Christus Catholic Trust is a multi-academy trust comprising of seven primary schools across south Essex. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Business Manager to join the Central Team to support the strategic day to day running of the Trust as well as individual schools within the Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Trust Business Manager who is encouraged to play a pivotal role in the day to day life of the Trust. The person appointed to this multifaceted role will work closely with the Catholic Senior Executive Leader and Chief Financial Officer as well as provide finance and general administrative support for the Trust. This is a great opportunity for an experienced School Business Manager who is self motivated with high expectations of self and others to work within the central function of the Trust. You will be motivated with the ability to manage tasks using initiative. You will be directly involved in assisting the Trust reach its strategic goals.
Job Summary
· Day to day financial transactions including accounts payable
· Preparation of monthly management accounts, VAT returns, salary variance reports, revised forecasts, cashflow statement, reconciliation of all key control accounts, preparation of trading accounts, prepayments, accruals, deferred income, inter-company balances
· Budget setting, monitoring and forecasts
· Procurement across the Trust
· Attendance at Local Governing Body Finance committee meetings, presenting the management accounts
· Ensuring compliance with the Trust's financial regulations across the Trust
· Supporting & assisting other schools as required with all aspects financial management
· Assist with internal and external audit
· Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and assisting with ad hoc duties as required
· Supporting the Catholic Senior Executive Leader with
the production of a termly newsletter
o general administration
o GDPR compliance
o Other ad hoc duties as required


Trust Business Manager Essential Requirements
· Proven financial accounting literacy and experience
· Maths and English GCSE Grade 5 (or equivalent)
· Good IT skills in particular Microsoft Excel and Word
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels
· Team player
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
· Enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative and resilience
· Enthusiastic and willing to involve oneself in the life of the Christus Catholic Trust and be fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the Trust

Desirable Requirements
· Experience of working within a school/Multi Academy Trust
· Experience of using IRIS (PSF)
· AAT Level 3
