A new opportunity has arisen for a Midday Assistant to join our successful team supporting students at lunchtime. Brentwood County High School (BCHS) are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, committed and flexible Midday Assistant, to supervise at lunchtime on playgrounds or in the dining hall.
The position will require the successful candidate to supervise the pupils' activities at lunchtime, ensuring high standards of health & safety and wellbeing. The role of the Midday Assistant is to promote good standards of behaviour whilst supporting and supervising the students. The Midday Assistant should act as a responsible, caring person, always with the welfare of the pupils in mind. It is essential to have a positive attitude with the ability to communicate with students in a firm but fair manner.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting students. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure.
The Trust believes in career progression and some of our previous Midday Assistants have moved on to other roles within the school and the trust. Previous Midday Assistants have progressed into such roles as Catering Assistant, Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant. Overtime may be available as well.
The Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust is committed to supporting the right candidates who have a keen interest in progressing to a teaching assistant and seeking career development. This would be a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain school-based experience.
Due to increasing student numbers, Brentwood County High School is on a journey of improvement and is seeking to appoint additional staff. Following our "Good" Ofsted rating in June 2022 and several years of excellent student outcomes, demand for places in Year 7 and Year 12 has been rising. In December 2023, we will be excited to open the final stage of our £27 million DFE heritage building project. This will provide new state-of-the-art learning environments - including new science, sporting, technology, and art facilities, whilst also retaining the character of the original school buildings that date back over a century.
