Are you keen to help young people grow? Do you believe that all students and young people deserve to thrive in a school environment that enables them to reflect on any wrongdoings and make progress? If so, we'd welcome your application for this position.

New Rickstones Academy is graded 'Good' (May 2018) and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 8 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is now oversubscribed and our newest building, which opened September 2022, was to meet this demand. New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high staff retention rates. Staff development is a priority with an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program to further develop our excellent staff.

The successful candidate will support the pastoral care of all students including safeguarding, behaviour management, discipline, attendance and punctuality, liaising with the pastoral team, parents and outside agencies, in order to maximise students wellbeing and achievement by co-ordinating the internal suspension room. You will be required to work closely with the Heads of Year to ensure that every student has the tools required to be successful in and out of school.

Day to day, the successful candidate will help lead a year group and the wider school as required working hard to safeguard students, ensure that they are well behaved and reflect on incidents if they get it wrong and to ensure high attendance at school from all students. There will also be a need for time to be spent conducting interventions with vulnerable students who are in need of support or mentoring.

Please contact Adam Wilding, awilding@newrickstonesacademy.org if you'd like to discuss the role or arrange a tour.

Closing date : 26th November 2023
