CATERING SERVICE ASSISTANT MANAGER

Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 5, Point 9 - 12

Actual Salary from: £18,809 - £19,865

The Role

An opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for a catering service assistant manager to join our catering team, to support the catering manager with ensuring the operational efficiency of the catering service and planning for the provision and preparation of food and beverages to meet the required standard within budget limitations as agreed with the school management.

Our catering team pride themselves on providing a high-quality dining experience for our students and staff and therefore the ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and being a team player.

The successful candidate will be expected to deputise for the catering manager when appropriate.

Along with the Walton Road site located close to the centre of the town, Clacton County High School has its own sixth form college; Sigma Sixth, based in Jaywick Lane in Clacton.Although allocated a base, the successful candidate may be required to work at either site to provide additional capacity within the individual catering teams.

The role of Catering Services Assistant Manager is expected to promote and instil these ideals, to be a role model to all; both colleagues and students in school.

This post is 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days)

This role is 07:00am - 14:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break each day.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

· To deputise for the catering manager as required.

· To take responsibility for the supervision of other catering assistants during school mealtimes.

· To assist the catering manager with the preparation of menu plans.

· To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.

· To assist with the issue and recording of catering supplies as required.

· To attend training activities and/or meetings as required.

· Occasionally, to assist with special functions at the school which may be outside of normal working hours.
