Endeavour Cooperative Academy, a special school, is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated & organised Kitchen Assistant to join our small, friendly team. This position is for 12.5 hours a week, 2.5 hours per day - hours would be 12.00 noon to 2.30pm
There are currently 150 pupils on roll, which will rise to 180 in the next couple of years. We are also being completely rebuilt with funding from DfE, so will be having a brand new kitchen facility.
The successful candidate will provide support to the school's Cook, including but not exclusively:
- Serving meals to pupils
- Cleaning tables
- Cleaning plates, cutlery & equipment
- Preparing food as required
- Deputising for the school's Cook if necessary
- Ideally you will have some experience of working in a school kitchen or school in another capacity.

Please note this is a permanent role, term time only. The salary is pro-rata and will include an outer fringe allowance. Full-time annual salary is between £22,737and £23,114 plus an outer fringe allowance of £689.
The position is for 12.5 hours per week term time only, £6,585 to £6,695 actual salary for 12.5 hours per week plus £200 outer fringe allowance.

- - a declaration that you are not disqualified from working with children by virtue of the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2018 or that you have provided a valid disqualification waiver from Ofsted
In line with recommended practice in the statutory guidance "Keeping Children Safe in Education", the school will conduct searches for information on shortlisted candidates which is publicly available on-line. The purpose is limited:
- to identify issues which call into question the applicant's suitability to work with children;
- to verify employment history.

Information about the School
In September 2023 Endeavour Co-operative Academy will be a 5 – 19 school for 172 young people, all with an EHCP. The primary need of pupils is Moderate Learning Difficulties. Our classes have, on average, 12 pupils and 1.5 Teaching Assistants. All teachers are class tutors, which involves responsibility for registration, reports and Annual Reviews for a class.
