ENGLISH PROGRESS MENTOR

LGPS Scale 5, points 9-12 - Actual salary £17,075 to £18,007 per annum including Fringe, depending on experience.

31 hours 40 minutes per week. Term time only (38 weeks)

Monday to Friday 8.20am to 3.10pm

Are you considering training to become a teacher or looking to pursue a career in education? Are you a graduate with excellent Literacy skills?

We are looking for a dynamic, well-qualified and committed English Progress Mentor to join our English Department. We would also welcome applications from Under Graduates looking for an industrial placement.

The successful candidate will work closely with our English team to raise the attainment of some of our most vulnerable students. The role will include, one to one teaching, small group work and supporting students/teachers in lessons when appropriate. The English Department consists of a Head of faculty, Key Stage Coordinators, lead practitioners and a Whole School Reading Coordinator.

This post will provide an ideal opportunity for you to gain experience working within a school and to develop the skills you will need for the next stage of your career.

You must have a confident approach to working with young people as well a conscientious and flexible attitude to work.
