We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to work in this school for children with severe and profound learning difficulties.
Applicants should ideally have some experience in a related field and an understanding of children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. You should also have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team, and have a willingness to learn and take on new skills.
Key duties include:
provide assistance with preparation, cooking and service of meals for students
cleaning duties within the kitchen as required
follow sound hygiene practices

This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave from January to August 2027.
This position is from Monday to Friday, term time plus non pupil days.
Weekly working pattern Monday to Friday 11:45 am to 1:45 pm
Actual gross annual salary from £9042.04 (for less than 5 year service with ECC) and £9308.18 (for more than 5 years with ECC)

Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 184 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula.
