Attendance & Learning Support Facilitator (Maternity Cover - Up to 1 Year)

Salary: £24,525 - £25,738 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 3.30pm; Friday, 7.30am to 3.00pm
Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Cover (up to 1 year)

We are seeking a dedicated, organised and compassionate Attendance & Learning Support Facilitator to join our team on a maternity cover basis for up to one year. This is a varied and rewarding role which combines attendance support, SEND administration and student welfare responsibilities, making a real difference to the educational experience and outcomes of our young people.
About the Role
Working closely with the Attendance Officer, SENCO, Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), pastoral teams and external agencies, you will play a key role in supporting student attendance, safeguarding and SEND processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting attendance monitoring and follow-up processes.
Making daily contact with parents and carers regarding student absence.
Producing attendance reports, letters and documentation using Bromcom and Microsoft Office.
Assisting with safeguarding and attendance interventions, including home visits where required.
Maintaining SEND records, databases and documentation.
Organising and attending SEND review meetings.
Supporting annual reviews, EHCP processes and SEND administration.
Assisting with examination access arrangements in conjunction with the SENCO and Exams Officer.
Working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to support student success.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of administrative work within a busy school environment.
Is educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent.
Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Is confident using Microsoft Office and database systems.
Can build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies.
Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
Has a good understanding of SEND and the barriers some young people face in accessing education.
Is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Remains calm, professional and solution focused in a busy environment.

The Boswells School is a large 11-18 secondary school that serves the area of north Chelmsford. The school is an extremely popular, over-subscribed convertor academy that enjoys an excellent reputation in the local and wider community. We were graded ‘Good’ in every area by OFSTED in February 2017 and are working towards our goal of becoming a truly great school.
