Administration Assistant
Essex Schools Local Government Pay Scale 3 (points 6 - 7)
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm with a break of 30 minutes. 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time plus 5 INSET days)
Actual salary: £20,216.87 pa (plus outer fringe payment of £567.04pa)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable person to work in our busy school office. A good sense of humour, being able to multi-task, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential qualities.
The successful candidate will:
· Have solid office administrative experience
· Previous school office experience is preferable but not essential.
· Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and confident to learn new systems.
· Have excellent written and oral communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook.
· Have achieved at least a grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
· Be efficient, versatile and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a strong and friendly team.
· Have a professional telephone manner.
· Be able to prioritise their own workload and plan effectively.
· Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
Duties will include:
· Administration of pupil records on the school's MIS system
· School admissions
· Administering first aid and maintain appropriate records.
· Keeping our school website up-to-date and managing the weekly newsletter.
· Undertake reception and telephone duties, acting as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors and deal with general enquiries.
· Assist with any admin duties including but not limited to post, filing and general tasks.
· Report to Office Manager.
