We are currently recruiting for a Room Leader
As a Room Leader, you will manage and inspire your room team to deliver exceptional care and education. You will create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where every child can grow and hit their individual milestones.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead a team within your room, providing mentorship, support, and guide staff members within your room.
- Deliver the EYFS Curriculum and support's the Canopy Curriculum to ensure a child-centred approach, and ensure the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children
- Be a key-person for a group of your own key children, and build strong parent partnerships.
- Keeping records up to date on our Famly App, and completing quality observations and assessments.
- Pan and deliver a range of exciting activities and experiences for children, and oversee the planning of your team members.
- To maintain an organised, safe and stimulating room environment.
- Ensure effective supervision of children to ensure they remain safe, and complete ongoing risk assessments, ensuring play and learning experiences are safe and age appropriate.
- Fulfil your roles and responsibilities, and legislation duty in relation to safeguarding children by ensuring you follow safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Have a clear understanding of and adhere to all policies and procedures, and follow legislations from governing bodies.
- Working as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the nursery demands, ie. Hygiene Standards and Room Preparation.
- Build relationships and communication clearly and positivbely with parents, carers, colleagues and external agencies
- Implement and maintain the nursery's Equality Policy, ensuring that all children, parents and staff team are valued and included.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A full and relevant Level 3 or above childcare or Early Years Qualification
-Experience of working with children aged 0-5 years in an early years setting, ideally with previous leadership or senior responsibilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED standards
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication, patience, and a positive, problem-solving attitude
- Ability to support and inspire nursery colleagues to achieve the highest standards of care and education
- Ability to manage workload and manage time effectively
Hours:
This role is a 40 hour per a week contract, all year round.
Various shifts depending on nursery needs.
Shifts will be within the hours of 7:15am and 6:45pm, Monday to Friday.
