The Gateway Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join our thriving English Faculty. OUR RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
Summer 2026 produced the strongest outcomes in the Academy's history. English at grade 4+ rose nine points to 85% - our strongest headline measure and fourteen points above the national average. English at grade 5+ 69% and at grade 7+ 28%.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Teacher of English at The Gateway Academy, you will:
Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, in English Language and English Literature.
Foster curiosity, confidence and a genuine love of reading, writing and spoken language.
Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback that inspires improvement and confidence.
Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of subject specialists who are passionate about achieving excellence.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum, to whole-school literacy and to enrichment opportunities.
