After School Club Supervisor

Contract Type: Permanent contract

Term time only Monday to Friday

17.5 hours per week - 2.30pm to 6pm (includes admin time)

Salary:Band 3

Giffards Primary school are looking to appoint an After School Club supervisor/Coordinator who will be a part of our successful and growing After School Club

The role involves the day to day running of the club including administration & communication dealing with queries including managing & solving problems. You will also be responsible for the After School Club team including planning and delivering engaging daily activities and preparing and serving a light, cold meal.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervision and Safety: Monitor children indoors and outdoors, ensuring adherence to health,

safety, and safeguarding policies.

· Activity Planning: Organize engaging, age-appropriate, and inclusive activities like arts and

crafts, sports, and free play.

· Team Leadership: Direct, motivate, and support after school club assistant staff.

· Parent Communication: Build positive relationships with families, provide updates, and handle

daily attendance registers.

· Welfare and Care: Administer first aid, serve healthy snacks, and support children with specific

emotional or educational needs.

Requirements and Qualifications

· Experience: Previous background working with children in a school, nursery, or playwork setting.

· Skills: Strong communication, behaviour management, and leadership abilities.

· Checks: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

· Qualifications: An NVQ Level 3 in childcare would be an advantage. As part of this role additional training will need to be undertaken in first aid, food safety and safeguarding.

Information about the School

Giffards has been a primary school for 20 years and a standalone acdemy since 2014. We currently have 14 classes with 408 pupils. We are a welcoming, friendly and inclusive primary academy, where we nurture and celebrate the achievements of all of our children. We have a large, experienced team of teachers and LSAs as well as specialist Music and PE staff. We have invested heavily in ICT; all our classrooms have interactive screens as does our music room. Every child has access to their own chrome book as well as a set of headphones. All teaching staff have their own laptops which are used for planning and centralisation of information and resources.
