The Role

Alec Hunter Academy is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed member of staff to become our Therapeutic Interventions Coordinator. The role will involve delivering therapeutic interventions and coordinating the work of external agencies with the school setting, so the successful candidate will have a track record of effective organisation and the ability to help students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

· To develop therapeutic support programmes for school refusers and students with SEMH needs, Anxiety, Behaviour Management and Social Skills issues.

· To coordinate the management, deployment, and monitoring of the therapeutic team, including external mentors and counsellors.

· To provide department and whole-school training to support such programmes when necessary.

· To contribute to Student Development Plans and complete follow-up work based on actions arising for the SEN department.

· To complete related administrative tasks including emails, letters, filing, photocopying and telephone calls.

· To maintain accurate and detailed records relating to the interventions delivered.

· To undertake monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of the impact of interventions.

· To liaise with outside agencies and promote parental engagement.

· To establish positive relationships with pupils.

· To carry out any reasonable tasks that may be required by the SENCo/LG Line Manager.

The successful candidate will need to be committed to supporting students, be efficient, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient, with a good sense of humour. Candidates should have some experience or training which lends itself to providing interventions of this nature.
