Position Type:Finance / Admin Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 21.25 hours 12pm - 4.30pm (with a15 minute unpaid lunch break) 39 weeks per year (term time including 5 INSETdays)
Pay: £13,155.21 (21.25 hours including outer fringe payment)
We are looking to appoint a Finance / Admin Assistant to join our friendly, busy school office. The successful candidate will:
- Have solid office administrative/finance experience
- Previous school office experience is preferrable but not essential.
- Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and confident to learn new systems.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook.
- Have achieved at least a grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
- Be efficient, versatile and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a strong and friendly team.
- Have a professional telephone manner.
- Be able to prioritise their own workload and plan effectively.
- Be able to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
- Duties will include:
- To be responsible for the inputting of purchase orders onto the finance system and placing orders.
- Processing BACS payments for payment.
- Monitoringoutstanding orders and chasing suppliers when required.
- Assist with the administration of the online payment system "School Money" in relation to payments for dinner money, clubs, school trips, wrap around care, weekly swimming lessons etc.
- Be responsible for finance-related filing/archiving.
- To carry out all financial administration in accordance with school financial regulations and policies.
- Processing all income streams.
- Liaising with teachers to book transport for tripsandcoordinate documentation.
- Monitoring free school meal applications and updating systems.
- Chasing any outstanding debts.
- Trading accounts.
- Ordering and arranging quotes for any IT equipment.
- Administering first aid and maintain appropriate records.
- Undertake reception and telephone duties, acting as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors.
- Assist with any admin duties including but not limited to post, filing and general tasks.
- Report to School Business and Office Manager.
