What are we looking for?

The Digital Team is currently looking for a dynamic and driven staff member to take on the role of Digital Vocational Tutor, working closely with the rest of the team to ensure the smooth running of all provision within the Department.

The ideal candidate should have experience in a customer-facing role and should be able to work independently, solving problems with little or no support. The candidate must be willing to learn and eventually deliver all aspects of work the Digital Team is involved in. This will include the iPad rollout and rollback, supporting staff with the use of technology to enhance Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA), including iPads and VR, as well as the day-to-day running of the iHub.

They should have excellent communication skills, be a team player and be confident in sharing their expertise with staff across the college on staff development days. They should also be happy to deliver training and support to external colleges, organisations and groups.

Knowledge and experience of using technology to support teaching, learning and assessment is essential. The successful candidate will also have a passion for creating engaging digital content and will be expected to develop media content for social media, as well as internal training resources and digital content to support staff in using technology effectively.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a Teacher Training Award in Education and Training - Level 3, or an equivalent teaching qualification, or be willing to undertake the qualification. The ability and enthusiasm to develop and deliver engaging training to a range of audiences is essential.

We are keen to hear from enthusiastic individuals who are innovative, focused and passionate about the use of technology and education. We are looking for an individual who has excellent organisational skills, is self-motivated and has resilience to work in this fast-paced environment, with excellent IT skills to support the development and integration of college systems and processes within the teams.

The successful candidate will be expected to keep up to date with emerging technologies and digital trends and have the ability to identify opportunities where technology can enhance the experience of both staff and learners.

Key skills and experience

Experience in a customer-facing role with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Extensive knowledge and experience of using technology to enhance Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
Experience and confidence in delivering training to staff and learners.
A Teacher Training Award in Education and Training - Level 3, equivalent teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake the qualification.
Experience of using and supporting iPads, VR and other emerging technologies.
Ability to create engaging media and digital content for social media.
Experience of creating internal digital training resources and content for staff.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A willingness to learn new technologies and develop expertise across all areas of the Digital Team.
Passion for innovation, education and the effective use of technology.
Ability to deliver training to internal and external audiences.
