Administrative Assistant - School Office
October 2026 start - Start date is subject to all pre-employment checks being available.
Hours - 13.5 hours per week (11:30-16:00 x 3 days Wednesday-Friday) will be £7,911.15 actualsalaryper annum (Scale 3 Point 6).
This role is being offered on a permanent basis subject to successfully passing a period of probation.
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Administrative Assistant to join our busy school office team.
The successful candidate will provide a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service, acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff, visitors, and external agencies. Responsibilities will include responding to enquiries in person, by telephone, and via email, ensuring all communications are handled promptly and professionally.
Key duties will include:
· Answering and responding to queries at the school office, by telephone, and through email correspondence.
· Providing general administrative support to the school leadership team and wider staff.
· Managing financial administration processes, including placing orders, processing invoices, and preparing documentation for BACS payment runs.
· Checking, maintaining, and updating supplier records on the FMS financial management system.
· Ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date in accordance with school procedures.
· Assisting with data entry, filing, record keeping, and other administrative tasks as required.
· Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and experience of working in an administrative role. Previous experience of financial administration and knowledge of FMS would be advantageous.
We would also require the candidate to hold GSCE Maths and English grades C or above
