Peripatetic Teachers

(Gymnastics teacher and Ballet teacher)

Required for September 2026

St John's is a co-educational Independent School for pupils aged between 2 and 16 years. We are proud of our educational provision and offer you the opportunity to join our successful school.

We are looking for inspiring peripatetic teachers to join our team at St John's School. We are looking for teachers of Gymnastics and Ballet for our Reception to Year 6 pupils, as we have pupils ready and waiting to learn.

St John's School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment will be subject to the satisfactory medical clearance, reference checks and enhanced DBS check.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have the enthusiasm to deliver creative, engaging and challenging lessons that will stimulate pupil learning.
  • Have high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
  • Be enthusiastic, a team player, self-motivated and innovative.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate.
  • Be an inclusive practitioner who can flexibly tailor their approach to ensure every child feels understood and supported.

Tasks and Duties would include:

  • To plan, resource, arrange and deliver imaginative, interactive and inspiring lessons that ensure that effective learning takes place and pupils make excellent progress.
  • To teach engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and involve pupils and improve pupil attainment.
  • To maintain regular and productive communication with parents, including to report on progress and achievements.
  • To ensure that school safeguarding policies and procedures are at the heart of all that you do.
