We are looking to appoint a Clerk to our Governing Board to provide clerking services at our Full Governing Board meetings and as required to other meetings such as hearing and appeals.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join an effective governance team and work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings, supporting the Chair or co-chairs of governors, the Headteacher and the Governing Board in the exercise of their governance responsibilities in compliance with statutory and other requirements and the delivery of agreed governance policies. Most of the work is centred around calendared meetings of the Full Governing Board (usually 6 meetings per year in the school) which primarily involves producing meeting agendas with the chair(s) of governors and the headteacher and writing minutes. The Clerk is an important source of advice for governors on governance matters for which training will be provided.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and established team. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Payment is Scale 7 point 19-24 £16.62-£18.35 per hour. Actual salary - based on an average of 6 hours per meeting for 6 meetings per year plus holiday pay - £670-£740pa. Further or additional hours, if and when required, will be paid at the same rate.
