Learning Support Assistant (Term time)
Radwinter CofE Primary School - Band 3 (Point 6-7) | £25,989-£26,403 (FTE)

About the role
This role is primarily to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with SEND within the classroom, working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO. The contract is fixed-term and linked to the child's EHCP/funding.
Key responsibilities include:
· Provide day-to-day 1:1 in-class support to the named child, enabling access to the curriculum and promoting independence.
· Implement agreed strategies from the child's IEP/EHCP and deliver personalised activities in line with teacher planning.
· Attend specialist training and apply techniques linked to the child's diagnosis and needs (full training provided).
· Monitor and record the child's progress and behaviour, sharing feedback with the teacher and SENCO.
· Support the child's social, emotional and physical needs, including personal care and minor first aid where required.
· Promote positive behaviour and inclusion, supporting the child to engage with peers and classroom routines.
· Assist with classroom resources, displays and, when required, supervision during short periods (breaks, educational visits)
Hours:
Monday 08:30am-12:30pm
Tuesday 08:30am-15:15pm
Wednesday 08:30am-15:15pm
Term time only. Additional 'Wraparound Assistant' hours available at breakfast club (Mon-Wed 08:00-08:30) and after-school club (up to 15:00-18:00) if desired.
About you - the ideal candidate
You will be:
· Compassionate, patient and committed to supporting one child's learning, wellbeing and independence.
· Experienced in working with children with SEND in school or early years settings.
· Able to build respectful, trusting relationships with the child, colleagues and the child's family.
· Practically skilled in implementing targeted strategies, supporting literacy, numeracy and use of ICT.
· Willing to undertake specialist training related to the child's diagnosis and to apply learning consistently.
· Confident in following safeguarding procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications and experience we value:
Relevant experience in schools/early years and qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 in Learning Support or equivalent (preferred).
Completion of induction and basic first aid awareness desirable.
