We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual, who can cheerfully and efficiently welcome visitors to reception at Writtle Infant School or Writtle Junior School and deal with parent, pupil and staff enquiries. The successful candidate must have excellent inter-personal skills and be capable of remaining positive, calm and understanding at all times. The ability to multi-task is essential and observing confidentiality is a crucial part of the post.
There will be a range of administrative tasks to be undertaken on a regular daily andweekly basis, which will require the postholder to be capable of setting their own
priorities in order to deal with deadlines.
Hours per week: 37
Initial working pattern: 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday (8.30am start on 1 day per week)
Weeks per year: 39 (term time plus 1 week)
Start date: 1st June 2026
Holiday entitlement
Pro-rated holiday entitlement (includes public holidays) for this post is 5.7 weeks.
The successful candidate will work every week during term time, plus 1 additional week.
Holiday will be deemed to be taken during school closure periods. There is no entitlement to take holiday during term time.
Pay
This post is paid on Pay Scale 3, points 6 to 7. The full time pay range for this Band is currently £25,989 to £26,403 per year and the actual pay range for this part time post is £21,782 - £22,129 per annum (£13.47 - £13.69 per hour). These figures include the holiday pay entitlement for someone with less than 5 years' service.
Employees are paid monthly in twelve equal months per year.
Probation
All individuals new to employment with HIVE Family of Schools will be required to satisfactorily complete a six month probationary period.
