Hours: 9-3pm with a 45 minute break (26.25 hours a week), term time only plus non pupil days
Salary: Scale 5 point 10 £27694, actual salary £17008.40 Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist Asisstant to join our vibrant and inclusive school community.
About the Role
You will work closely with our experienced teaching and support staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy to pupils across a range of ages and abilities, including those with autism and complex needs.
The role:
Working under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists as part of a multi-disciplinary team
To support the management of a defined caseload as agreed by Speech and Language Therapists.
To provide indirect support (for example providing visual timetables, visual schedules, and Social Stories) to promote an accessible and communication-friendly environment.
Working with pupils both in one-to-one and group settings, planning and leading group work and activities
To liaise with all involved professionals and relatives as appropriate to the management of the individual pupil.
Preparing therapy rooms and equipment
To comply with and promote to others, the policies and procedures relating to the school, specifically those relating to child protection n, safeguarding, health and safety, security confidentiality, and data protection.
Applications are welcome from Speech & Language Therapy Assistants with the following:
4 or 5 GCSEs (A* to C) or equivalent, Level 3 qualification desirable
Previous experience working within an educational setting is highly desirable.
Relevant experience working with students with autism or learning disabilities in an educational setting is highly advantageous.
A caring and understanding approach.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
